David Betteridge Photographer

Having worked in a bank for over 25 years, I had the opportunity (in 2004) to follow my passion and turn my hobby into a business. I eagerly seized the chance to become a full-time professional photographer and have never regretted doing so. Since then I have steadily built the business and have really enjoyed every moment. Its so wonderful to make a living from something you love doing and are passionate about, its really not like working at all.

I am very fortunate to live in the beautiful county of Wiltshire having brought up in the equally beautiful county of Dorset. Working regularly in Somerset, Hampshire, Gloucestershire, Bristol, Bath, Trowbridge, Chippenham, Devizes, Frome, Westbury, Warminster and Melksham. In fact I work pretty much anywhere throughout the UK and occasionally in Europe too. My specialist areas of photography are Weddings, Events, Equestrian, Commercial and Press & PR  Photography.

My Skills

Wedding Photography

Wedding photography including engagement photos, pre-wedding photos, shots taken during the ceremony or reception on the big day itself, sometimes may even include “trash the dress” photos. Wedding photography is also one of the main categories of my portfolio. I photograph many weddings each year and have done so for over thirty years.

Event Photography

Event photography capturing guests, activities, and the ambiance of a gathering. Weddings, christenings, corporate parties, birthdays, dances, awards ceremonies, conferences, live concerts, and other events fall under this category of photography. I have been photographing events for over twenty five years and still learn something at every event I work at.

Equestrian Photography

Capturing Equestrian Events from the largest international events such as Badminton Horse Trials throughout to Pony Club events and local shows. Often working for newspapers or sports magazines, also creating imagery for advertising purposes.

Commercial photography specifically for commercial use, usually to promote or sell a product or service.I am often hired to take shots of the products to be used in marketing such as brochures, menus, pamphlets, social media and websites. Images of services can be staged using models or staff. Food photography, fashion photography, and product photography sometimes come under the commercial photography heading as do headshots are another regular request from commercial clients.
