One of the events I look forward to most every year is Badminton Horse Trials. Not only because its a real privilege to be an accredited photographer at one of the biggest equestrian sporting events of the year but also its five days in which I catch up with a group of fellow photographers. Its a great opportunity to get new ideas and see things from a completely different perspective. Working on your own is great and I would recommend it to anyone, however sometimes you need to be able to bounce ideas of someone or just be inspired by the way someone else works. I always come away from the event bursting with new ideas boosted by the experiences i have had over the course of the event.
Then there is the event itself which as always was four days of top class equestrian action two days of Dressage then the enormous cross country course and finally the show jumping. This years winner Andrew Nicholson from New Zealand won the title which has eluded him for so many years in fact this was his 37th completion at the event, beating last years winner Michael Jung of Germany.
